With Brashear out of the lineup, who is next in line to provide protection for Ovechkin?
That's an excellent question Pat. While the Caps still have John Erskine, Matt Bradley, and other pugilists in the line-up, there are three players that normally would be ready to go that are unable to due to suspension (Sutherby, Brashear) or injury (Clark). There are several options currently available to the Caps. The most obvious option would be to sign Ian White's parole officer. If Stever Irwin played for the Leafs, they could reach down to their ECHL affiliate. At the end of the day, the best option seems to be to go to their own stands and bring out this guy. FS has had several classic clashes with this opponent over the year, and I can speak for my former opponent's tenacity. People will think twice before messing with this aggresive avian.
