Accentuate the Positives.

Did you hear the Caps have fired Hanlon today? It's in about 80 other places, and I doubt people come here for the hard hitting news. Especially since I never have it. This is where people come for their fluff pieces. Maybe better days are ahead.


It's hard to keep a blog going when the team is so atrocious it makes your hurt to think about it. So you take the positives where you can. You start a fan club based on your favorite player. Then the player gets traded for a draft pick.

So you drag yourself to a game, knowing that the hockey team is driving you to drink. And we have to look for the positives.


1. Yes, cute camera girl was at the game, making her triumphant return to both the corner she patrols, and my heart.

2. Bob McDonald is one of the best singers of the national anthem around. Anytime he is there to sing the anthem, at least the game gets off to a good start.

3. Verizon Center serves Stella Artois. The greatest beer ever. It may cost $7 a pop, but at least it makes it easier to laugh at how bad this team can be.

Hopefully with new coach Bruce Boudreau there are better days ahead. At least the players are getting yelled at a lot more. They've earned that.

Ask FS! 10/8/07

Didja notice Cute Camera Girl doesn't seem to work there anymore? Does this mean you'll start drinking heavily?

Alas, Victor is correct. I have been to three of the four home games so far (if one were to include the preseason, and Cute Camera Girl has not been present at any of the game I attended. One can only assume that the rock that CCG sporadically wore last year means that Cute Camera Girl found a man she could settle down with and leech off of. Alas. I'm too upset to make a joke now, so I'll just wrap it up. I just hope you are happy out there Cute Camera Girl. Wherever you are.

Welcome back loyal readers! It's time once again for the online column is still trying to figure out the other half of the battle, it's "Ask FS!" Today's question comes from Victor who asks

Is Cute Camera Girl the one who is stationed in the camera well in front of section 114? Just want to make sure we're talkin' about the same girl, here.

Great question Victor! To answer it, Yes! Cute Camera Girl is in fact the camera lady who stands at the bottom of sections 114/115 and is the Camerawoman for the Caps! From his excellent Vantage point, I have seen her checking me out on many occasions. If I were able to get in her head, I can only imagine what she might be thinking when staring upon my visage . . .

"Ugh! That creep is staring at me again!"
"Man, some of these guys are butt ugly!"
"I wish this was a Wizards game, because then Etan Thomas would be here! I love a man not afraid to push me around!"

and more of the things. In the past, FS, along with other observers, has noticed a ring on Cute Camera Girl's ring finger, but at the most recent match I saw here, last week against Boston, she did not in fact have it on. Does an opportunity exist? Will Cute Camera Girl ever not make an ugly face when looking at me? Are repetitive questions at the end of a blog post annoying?
