So I've been dead set against Bondra returning to the Caps in any form for a little over a year now, ever since his big PR stunt last summer, but I must say, I'm glad a team signed him. I want him to get to 500, and I want him to be happy. I wish a team better than Chicago had signed him, but then again, maybe it speaks about his perceived value that no one did. It's too bad that he's stuck on a team that most likely isn't going anywhere, but maybe the players returning from injury and the acquisition of Bondra can help spark a do-nothing offense into a standing climb. Bondra has been around more than one New Years surge that propelled the Caps into the playoffs, can he bring that magic to Chicago?
Anyway, Bondra is now firmly rooted in Chicago, and I wish him nothing but the best, unless Washington and Chicago meet in the finals. 1 down, 1 more for 500.
Oh, and please Peter. Fire Rich Winter.

I think all of us Caps fans wish Peter the best of luck in Chicago - it's hard to hold a grudge against someone like Bonzai who was such a key part of the Caps during his time here (but don't worry, I don't want him back here...)
There's no doubt in my mind that he'll get #500, and very soon. And think of it this way - at least he didn't go somewhere evil this time.

I bumped into Clark in the Verizon Center hallway while waiting for the Wizards to get out of practice yesterday and got a good look at his grill. His teeth, or what's left of them, looked like they were throwing up gang signs.
"Can you eat?" I asked him.
"Kind of" he said. "I can sort of work the food to one side and chew it slowly."
"So, you're eating a lot of oatmeal," I said.
"Yeah, that's about it," Clark said.
Then, thinking the way I always do, I had to ask the one key question.
"What about beer, you can drink beer, right?"
"Oh yeah," Clark said. "Always."
