Ask FS! 2/4/07

Welcome back loyal readers! It's time once again for the pulse-pounding action of Ask FS! I would like to remind all of our readers in the first three rows one last time that they WILL get wet.

Today's question comes from Phil in Edmonton. Phil wonders,
Which former Cap do you like better, Brendan Witt or Sergei Gonchar?
Well Phil, your two former teammates are both quandaries in terms of how to react to them. One is a d-man that reached all his potential, but never really gave fans a reason to love him. The other was a d-man that could have been great, but settled for pretty good.

Sergei Gonchar:
Pros:
Made the PP pretty good.
Allows us to do the Murphy Call
Cons:
Signed with Pittsburgh
Is afraid to hit a six year old girl
Not really that good at actually playing defense

Brendan Witt:
Pros:
Took Hunter's old number when signing with the Islanders
Gives a really good evil eye
Can hit someone if he feels like bothering
Cons:
Told everyone he wanted to go sign with one of the Florida teams to be closer to home, then signed with the Islanders
Never reached his potential.
Became increasingly less likely to actually hit someone

Well, looking at the pros and cons of both, I'd have to say Brendan Witt is the more likable former Cap blueliner. Just for the reason he didn't sign with Pittsburgh. Screw Gonchar.

I hope you all enjoyed this edition of "Ask FS!" If you have a query you'd like to see contemplated in this space in the future, just drop a comment below or submit your question via email through the link in my profile. Until next time, Let's Go Caps!
