Boston Hires Julien

And the crowd reaction is "meh."

He had a vezina goalie, and hart and selke finalists in his last stop, and he couldn't survive the season. He's not a bad coach, he's just not a great coach. He's too much of a players' coach to get anything done with a team like Boston. They'd probably have been just as well off hiring a teddy bear, lord knows the teddy bear would make less money. All in all, this just seems to reek of "safe hire" and not "good hire," which might be the source of Boston's problems the last several years. It's pretty easy to say give Boston GM Peter Chiarelli more time at this point, but one has to wonder when he's bringing in another coach that was just as bland as the last one.
